As Castle Craig is a private hospital prospective patients must be referred to for treatment here by their GP (family doctor) or through their national health service.

This keeps us in line with British Medical Association (BMA) best practice guidelines.

Referrals for Private Patients

If you want to pay for your treatment privately then your GP will write a letter of referral to our private Consultant Psychiatrist explaining your condition and medical history.

Referrals for NHS Patients

If you wish to be treated at our private clinic through the NHS then your GP will have to refer you to your local Community Addiction Team who will arrange a meeting with you before a referral is made.

Referrals for Patients with Private Medical Insurance

If you have private medical insurance then your insurance company will require a letter of referral to Castle Craig from your doctor.
