November 3, 2006 – Selkirk Weekly Advertiser
DEREK Brownlee MSP, from Selkirk, met up with Scottish Conservative leader Annabel Goldie at the weekend for a visit to Castle Craig hospital on the outskirts of Peebles.
Mr Brownlee said: "I was very impressed by the range of facilities at Castle Craig and found the visit informative and very useful.
"There is a real challenge in Scotland with tackling addiction to alcohol and we must place more emphasise on rehabilitation.
"The residential facility offered by Castle Craig has an important part to play in that and I know that when Annabel and I press the case for most rehabilitation places in Scotland, the type of services offered by Castle Craig must be amongst those which are available on a wider scale."
