Medical Care and Detoxification

The hospital programme is under medical direction and the implementation of clinical therapies is under the direction of a full-time consultant psychiatrist. There is a resident medical officer who is available on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The ward is also staffed by trained addiction nurses. Emergency hospital services are always available.

• A medical examination is conducted following admission
• The patient’s detoxification plan will be developed with a consultant
• The detoxification programme aims to ensure a comfortable and medically supervised withdrawal
• Patients are closely monitored, until stable, by experienced nursing staff and a doctor can be promptly summoned.
