Family involvement can be crucial to the outcome of treatment. The residential treatment programme helps participants to understand how recovery for the whole family can take place, discusses ways to respond to the addict and ways not to respond; how to 'detach' with compassion. Dr. McCann has experience of directing residential family programmes for over 20 years. The programme is facilitated by experienced therapists and our doctors, pastoral counsellor and other therapists contribute to the lecture schedule. During the 3 days you will learn from lectures, group therapy, group discussions and goal setting with staff some of the fundamental principles to apply in order to constructively cope with the illnesses of alcohol and drug dependence. The emphasis will be on "detachment" - i.e. distancing oneself in a compassionate way from the behaviours of active addiction and exploring creative alternatives.
We would like to offer you the opportunity of attending our next residential Family programme, a three-day event, facilitated by our experienced therapist, Lee Taylor. It begins on Monday at 9:30 am and concludes on Wednesday afternoon. The programme includes group therapy, conjoint family therapy, lectures by castle Craig staff, and talks from invited speakers.
The Family Programme is run by Castle Craig staff at Netherurd House, a beautiful Georgian House near Castle Craig. The programme runs approximately every 6 weeks. For more information about the Family Programme, please contact specialist therapist Lee Taylor at Castle Craig on: +44 (0)1721 722763
To enable us to run the programme on a regular basis we need to have confirmation of your booking as early as possible, preferably 14 days in advance of the projected date. Bookings must be accompanied by payment in full or a deposit of £30.
