Joonas is an experienced Registered Practitioner Member of BACP and Advanced Practitioner Member of Addiction Professionals, originally from Finland and currently living in Glasgow. His approach to therapy provides information related to the biology of the brain and the workings of the human mind. It is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention derived from a BSc in Psychology at the University of York, an MSc in Neuroscience at King’s College London and an MSc in Addiction Psychology and Counselling at London South Bank University.
This style aims to teach a combination of awareness and problem-solving around the routines that might negatively affect day-to-day life. This practical knowledge also comes from Joonas’s educational background in neuroscience, psychology, and addiction and the expertise gained from working closely with clients in hospitals, as well as alcohol and narcotics recovery services. He finds self-care and strength from playing football, and tennis, working out at the gym and learning new languages in his downtime.
