Vincent Waters

Before entering the field of therapy, Vincent built a varied career across business and government, as well as in national and local boards and committees. His experience with 12 Step facilitation began in 1989. He is trained in both person-centred and cognitive behavioural approaches and brings a flexible, patient-focused style to his therapeutic practices.

Drawing on a range of methods, Vincent adapts his approach to meet the unique needs of each person. His work is deeply influenced by both professional training and lived experience, and he believes that the person must always be at the centre of the process. He is also known for his work in developing strong therapeutic alliances with his patients.

At Castle Craig, Vincent has been the specialist therapist leading on smoking cessation for the past three years, supporting patients to overcome what is often the final addiction challenge.

He also has an interest in the fields of compulsive relationship and sexual behaviour, trauma, and behavioural addiction more broadly. His personal experience in fellowship has influenced his work, and he is a passionate advocate for the “chosen family” that people build in recovery from addiction and its impact both on the person and their loved ones.
