Castle Craig is very pleased to announce the appoint of José Lopes Pereira as our new Head Therapist. Jose takes over from Gordon Hogg who retired after many years of valued service at the end of last year.
José has been a specialist in the addictions field for 14 years having worked as a senior addiction counsellor at Clouds House, as a therapist for Priory Hospital Roehampton and as clinical manager at Focus 12 – a treatment centre in Suffolk.
Throughout his counselling and leadership career, José’s focus has been on implementing high quality treatment services and continuing care for all patients. Jose is registered with the BACP and has a Diploma, Foundation Degree and Bachelor Honours in Addiction Counselling, and a MSc in Counselling.
Other recent appointments include Mark Hepburn, who has joined in a consultancy role as a senior supervisor for therapy staff members. Mark has worked in the field of addiction treatment for 20 years having owned and operated the very well regarded Alexander Clinic in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire. He was also lead tutor on the former Hazleden Addiction Counsellor training program in Ireland which was latterly run by the Limerick Institute of Technology.
Mark gained experience through a variety of roles including private practice, EAP work and he holds Associate Lecturer status at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, currently working on the delivery of a Masters Level module in Addiction Studies. Mark’s desire to influence high quality and ethical practice in counselling has lead to the progression into clinical supervision and workforce development.
