Salary:
£31,000 – £32,500 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chef to join our catering team at Castle Craig Hospital.

You will work alongside our Head Chef and catering team to prepare and serve meals for patients, staff and visitors, ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Preparation and cooking of meals for up to 100 people per day, ensuring high standards of quality, nutrition and presentation.
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the kitchen and deputising for the Head Chef when required.
- Assisting with the development of healthy, varied and nutritious menus.
- Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, food safety and health and safety regulations.
- Maintaining accurate food storage, temperature monitoring and record-keeping procedures.
- Supervising and supporting Catering Assistants as required.
- Ensuring all cleaning schedules and kitchen maintenance procedures are followed.
- Ordering food supplies and assisting with stock control when required.
- Receiving, checking and signing for deliveries into the department.
- Supporting catering requirements for hospital events, including the annual reunion and other functions.
- Driving the kitchen van to deliver food across the hospital campus when required.
- Working closely with the Head Chef to ensure the efficient day-to-day management of the kitchen.
- Undertaking any other duties that may reasonably be required.
Chef requirements
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Chef
- Elementary Food Hygiene qualification essential.
- Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification desirable.
- Practical experience across all areas of a commercial kitchen.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling procedures.
- Experience catering for a range of dietary needs and preferences.
- Ability to work effectively within a busy and high-performing team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
