Nutrition plays a significant role in the recovery process, and at Castle Craig, it’s just one aspect of our comprehensive care programme. The dining room is where residents will eat a variety of wholesome, nutritious, and delectable meals, prepared with the utmost care to support their physical and mental revitalisation. Our menu is thoughtfully created to cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences, ensuring each patient is well-nourished to face the challenges of recovery with strength and vitality.
Food and Nutrition at Castle Craig
Meals are served communally in our Dining Room. Patients with mobility issues or those requiring supervision may eat in the Castle. Patients in isolation for any reason will have their meals served in their room.
Patients are asked to select menu choices each week and can choose from a very varied breakfast, offering cereals, pastries, cold meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and a hot option. Lunches include soup, and hot and vegetarian options, and dinners include a dessert as well.
Patients also enjoy an evening snack of cheese and biscuits or similar at 21:00.
Part of the pre-admission process is to identify allergies or dietary requirements, which are then confirmed during your admission. The kitchen is then notified and will provide vegetarian, vegan, halal, coeliac or gluten-free meals as required.
