Specialist Therapist
Clients in our Executive rooms receive the same treatment programme as other patients. We do offer optional extras that they may wish to sign up for:
- Extra Individual psychotherapy sessions;
- Private fitness sessions;
- Private massage sessions.
All patients are appointed a skilled and experienced focal psychotherapist from our team of therapists. Your focal therapist oversees the therapy plan from the earliest stage through to the continuing care plan. Your focal therapist will be available to meet frequently with you and shape your personalised treatment programme. All additional therapy sessions are allocated in line with clinical recommendations and therapist availability.
Private fitness sessions
All patients attend sessions with our fitness instructors and there are opportunities to discuss individual fitness goals with them through one-to-one fitness sessions. All fitness sessions are allocated in line with clinical recommendations and availability of sessions and there is an extra charge for these sessions.
Private massage sessions
Castle Craig offers massage sessions for all clients for an additional fee. This is something that Executive room patients can take advantage of depending on availability.
Family counselling for addictions
Your focal therapist liaises with your family members to ensure that they are involved in the treatment process (with permission) and help arrange their visit to Castle Craig, or via Zoom, for a private family therapy session. Family members are also invited to our Family Recovery Workshop weekends which take place online and are run by our talented Senior Specialist Therapist, Teri Lyn Fairnie.

Intervention
We offer intervention services with a qualified interventionist for patients who are deciding to come into rehab.
Sober transport
We offer door-to-door sober transport services and sober companioning – this is when someone will accompany you or your loved one safely from their home to Castle Craig.
Your sober companion can accompany you on your flight or car journey, be it by normal flight or private jet, and assist you through the difficulties of travel. Castle Craig is located 40 minutes’ drive from Edinburgh International Airport. Call our Help Desk for more information.
On Arrival
We understand that arriving at a private clinic can feel overwhelming and you may experience feelings of anxiety, so we aim to ease you through this process by providing you with a warm welcome on arrival. Our nursing team welcome you when you arrive and show you to your room to unpack. The nurses and doctor then conduct a medical assessment which takes around 2-4 hours.
Luxury Rehab Accommodation
We know that ‘luxury’ is a subjective word, and what is a luxury for some, may not be luxury for others. Our Executive room offers the space and comfort for a more luxurious stay in a residential rehab room than many other rehabs around the country and abroad. We don’t claim to be the most luxurious available but we always strive for high standards. Please call us to ask more about our rooms ‘Symington’ and ‘Ladyurd’ which are our designated Executive rooms and if you wish we can send you a link to a photograph.
Enquire about our Executive room availability
If you are interested in booking an Executive room at Castle Craig, please contact our admissions team with your enquiry.
We no longer run a separate ‘Executive Programme’.
How Can Castle Craig Help?
Who will I speak to when I call Castle Craig?
When you call you will reach our Help Centre team who will give you all the information you need to help you decide whether to choose treatment at Castle Craig. If you decide that you would like to have a free screening assessment you will be asked a series of questions to build up a picture of your medical and drug use history as well as any mental health issues you are facing. If you decide you want to proceed with treatment you will be put in touch with our admissions case managers who will guide you through the admissions process.
How long is the rehab programme?
Residential rehab treatment starts at 4 weeks and can go up to 12+ weeks. Research shows us that the longer you stay in rehab and are part of the residential therapy programme, the longer the likelihood of continued abstinence and stable recovery.
How do I pay for rehab?
One concern we sometimes hear from people is how they will fund their rehab treatment. You can pay for treatment at Castle Craig privately, or through medical insurance, and some people receive funding through the NHS. The cost of rehab varies depending on what kind of accommodation you choose.
What happens at the end of my treatment?
Castle Craig thoroughly prepares patients before departure by creating a personalised continuing care plan which is formulated following discussions with the medical and therapeutic team. We offer an online aftercare programme which runs for 24 weeks after leaving treatment, in order to ensure a smooth transition back into your everyday life. Patients leaving treatment automatically join our Recovery Club where they can stay connected via our annual reunion, events, online workshops and recovery newsletters.
